The President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, in his remarks at the inauguration ceremony on Saturday, proposed to conduct constitutional reforms in Uzbekistan.

“At the pre-election meetings of all the candidates, the representatives of the electorate put forward another important proposal. This is the implementation of constitutional reforms in the country,” he said. He did not elaborate on what kind of reforms were being discussed.

“If we look at the experience of some countries, we will see that constitutional reforms were carried out in many states during the period of fundamental changes,” he said.

“Therefore, we must also consider the issue of improving our Constitution, which will determine our current and future development, first of all, once again consulting with senators and deputies, the public, our people, having studied the world constitutional experience,” the President said.
