The Foreign Minister Abdulaziz Kamilov told in what case Uzbekistan will not recognize the Taliban government in Afghanistan. “The issue of recognizing the Taliban governments is, of course, on the agenda. We will move towards this together with our allies and partners. But the terms set for the Taliban are so serious that it is very dangerous to react to them separately.

We will not be able to turn a blind eye to the terrorist activity or the insufficient struggle of the Taliban against Al-Qaeda, ISIS or ISIL-Khorasan and other terrorist groups and organizations, and we will not be able to recognize the Taliban. There should be clear security guarantees and compliance with all the stated terms,” he said during a press conference.

Kamilov stressed that "in this regard, we will move together with the international community, our friends in the Commonwealth of Independent States, Russia."
