On April 11, 2017 the Tourism Development Committee hosted the next meeting of the Uzbekistan-Turkey Friendship Society.
At the meeting it was noted that the Society saw its activities significantly intensified since recently. In particular, the Uzbekistan-Turkey Friendship has been active in advancing bilateral ties between the peoples of Uzbekistan and Turkey. With the assistance of the Society, the Uzbek tourism industry representatives participated in the EMITT-2016 tourism exhibition, held on January 28-31, 2016 in Istanbul.
The next issue on the agenda was the election of the new chairman of the Uzbekistan-Turkey Friendship Society. The Chairman of the Uzbek Council of Friendship Societies proposed some candidates to the members of the Society, its Board and the Audit Commission. Anf after voting, Anvar Sharapov, the Chairman of Tourism Development Committee, was unanimously elected as chairman of the Uzbekistan-Turkey Friendship Society.
The meeting also approved the work plan of the Friendship Society for 2017.
