The Legislative Chamber of at a plenary session on Monday passed amendments the Basic Guarantees of the President's Activities Law that establish the president's distinctive signs - a sign and a standard (flag).
The Minister of Justice Ruslanbek Davletov presented the draft bill to the deputies, the Ministry of Justice said.
He added that in foreign countries, the symbols of the president are handed over to the newly elected head of state after his taking the oath. Until now, this provision has been absent in the legislation of Uzbekistan.
The sign and standard will serve as a symbol of the people's and society's faith in the effective execution of the complex tasks entrusted to him by the person elected to the presidency.
Amendments to the law must be approved by the Senate.
