On October 8, the governments of Uzbekistan and Turkey signed an agreement on free-of-charge assistance in the public health care, Dunyo news agency reported.

The document was endorsed by the Uzbek Ambassador to Turkey Alisher Agzamhodjaev and the Turkish Deputy Minister of Health Halil Eldemir.

According to the deal, the Turkish authorities will deliver 200,000 doses of Sinovac COVID-19 vaccines to Uzbekistan, the spokesman for the Ministry of Health Furkat Sanaev announced, with the delivery due in the coming days, he added.

Also, Turkey will donate 20,000 boxes of Favipiravir. Each box contains 400 tablets with a dosage of 200 mg.

"This batch of vaccines and medicines is sent as a sign of friendship and goodwill from the Turkish side," the agency said in a statement.
