Today, the President Shavkat Mirziyoyev hosted a delegation of the U.S. Congressmen Don Bacon, Doug Lamborne, Troy Nels and August Pfluger, the presidential press service said.
The U.S. delegation is visiting the country as part of an agreement to deepen bilateral inter-parliamentary cooperation.
"The congressmen commended the implementation of the strategy of New Uzbekistan ass an important factor in the country's sustainable progress and has already contributed to a noticeable boost to the country’s reputation in the international arena," the statement said.
The delegation of the House of Representatives also thanked for the support of humanitarian operations in Afghanistan.
The parties discussed projects and programs of cooperation both in the parliamentary area and with the states of Nebraska, Colorado and Texas, which the Congressmen represent.
Shavkat mirziyoyev and the Congressmen also discussed the establishment of cooperation in the field of innovation and industrial technology, IT, agriculture, green energy, healthcare and education.
On October 5, the U.S. congressmen, together with the Chairman of the Senate Committee on International Relations, Foreign Economic Relations, Foreign Investments and Tourism Ravshanbek Alimov and the Samarkand province governor visited Registan Square and Tilla-Kari Madrasah in Samarkand.
