Following the talks, the leaders of Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan oversaw the ceremony of exchange of signed bilateral documents between the heads of ministries, departments and provinces of the two countries, the presidential press service said.

The two leaders also signed a Joint Statement. Other accords:

Agreement on creation and regulation of an Uzbek-Turkmen border trade zone, which provides for the creation of a shopping center in adjacent territories.

Agreement to increase the volume of two-way trade and expand mutually beneficial partnerships between enterprises and companies.

Protocol on organizing the exchange of provisional information on goods and vehicles transported across the customs border.

Agreement on simplifying visa procedures for businesses and a protocol on amending the agreement on mutual trips of citizens of November 19, 2004.

Also, agreements were signed to expand cooperation in the fields of transport, transit, water-saving technologies, as well as justice, social protection, statistics, quarantine and plant protection, science and culture.

In total, during the visit, 23 accords were signed covering almost all areas of Uzbek-Turkmen cooperation.
