The Special Representative of the President of Uzbekistan for Afghanistan Ismatulla Irgashev met with Iranian Ambassador Hamid Nairabodi on Monday.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the efforts of the two countries to expand cooperation to help Afghanistan, as well as the situation in Afghanistan.
The Iranian Ambassador emphasized Uzbekistan’s active involvement in the establishment of a long-term and sustainable peace in Afghanistan.
The parties also exchanged views on the issue of providing humanitarian assistance to the Afghan people and economic assistance to Afghanistan.
On October 3 Ismatulla Irgashev and the EU Special Representative for Central Asia Terhi Hakala held talks on cooperation over the situation in Afghanistan.
