The Tashkent city mayor Jahongir Ortikhodjaev met with executives of Siemens, EDF and Stone City Energy, the mayor's office said on Monday.

During the talks, Jahongir Ortikhodjaev recalled the memorandum of cooperation signed with Siemens in the spring and reiterated the readiness of the parties to begin concrete steps as part of the agreements reached.

Reportedly, the purpose of the visit of Siemens Vice-President Aman Karim is to get acquainted with the CCGT power plant project and the companies directly involved in its implementation.

The plant will produce both electricity and steam, which will be used for the future heat supply of the capital. While, the energy loss will be significantly reduced due to the high efficiency of the equipment.

Aman Karim said a similar station was launched in Berlin in late 2020. He invited representatives of the authorities and officials to visit the German capital to get a clear idea of ​​the project and share experiences.

At the end of the meeting, it was noted that the mayor’s office is ready to implement this project, and it was noted that speeding up the process would be beneficial in all aspects.
