Law enforcement officers detained 10 people in Tashkent suspected of participating in the activities of the international terrorist organization Hizb ut-Tahrir, the Interior Ministry said.
The operation was held in Tashkent’s Almazar district. Among the detainees were persons previously convicted of promoting the ideas of this terrorist organization. On social networks, they continued to maintain contacts with wanted members of Hizb ut-Tahrir, the Interior Ministry noted.
Materials of extremist content were found in the places of residence and mobile phones of the detainees.
A criminal case was launched under the relevant articles of the Criminal Code, with investigation underway, the press service added.
