250 observers from the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) will arrive in Uzbekistan, announced Owen Murphy, head of the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights' election observation mission in Uzbekistan at a meeting of the Uzbekistan Central Election Commission.
He highlighted that the main group including 11 observers arrived in Uzbekistan yesterday, September 14, and another 28 long-term observers are expected to arrive next week.
“These observers will monitor all election processes throughout Uzbekistan. In addition, 250 observers will arrive in Uzbekistan one or two days before the elections.
In about three weeks we will publish our first report, where we will provide a full statement,” Owen Murphy said.
