The Minister of Energy Alisher Sultanov met with the Chairman of the Board of ACWA Power (Saudi Arabia) Mohammad Abdullah Abunayyan In Tashkent, the Ministry said.
Reportedly, the talks focused on the current state of cooperation, including the construction of thermal power plants and wind power plants, as well as prospects for cooperation.
Alisher Sultanov underscored the planned construction and installation work carried out by the Saudi company within the project of construction of a new 1,500 MW Syrdarya thermal power plant (TPP). Currently, work is underway to strengthen the soil at the project site, the construction of the shift camp has been completed.
In January this year, an investment deal was signed with ACWA Power, according to which the company intends to build two wind farms in Bukhara province. During the meeting, Alisher Sultanov, noted that it is waiting for the completion of anemometric research on the construction of this wind power plant.
During the meeting, the Ministry of Energy thanked ACWA Power for its contribution to the establishment of a specialized training center at the Energy College in Shirin.
