Parks in Tashkent city will now be open around the clock. This is stated in the Cabinet of Ministers’ August 31 Measures to radically improve the improvement and gardening in Tashkent Resolution.
The Resolution recommended the Tashkent City Council of People's Deputies to establish mandatory requirements for ensuring public safety in parks operating 24 hours a day.
One of the main tasks assigned to the Tashkent city mayor’s office and its districts is to increase the degree of greening of the total area of the capital to 30% by 2023. Now, according to the data recently announced by the Tashkent mayor Jakhongir Ortiqhodjaev, this figure is 26.4%.
The decree establishes the procedure according to which any tree seedlings to be planted are selected only on the basis of scientific research on the climate and characteristics of the land on which they will be planted.
The government has also instructed the construction of public parks (with no attractions) with a total area of at least 60 hectares, as well as small parks in each district.
Budget-financed organizations are now obliged to care for green spaces located along the streets next to their buildings, in accordance with the requirements of the improvement of the city.
From January 1, 2022 to January 1, 2023, a legal experiment is being launched, within the framework of which the landscaping and gardening services will be outsourced. At the first stage, the new order will be tested in the Bektemir and Uchtepa districts of the capital.
At a meeting on August 25, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev said that there are a lot of trees and lawns in the capital that require a lot of water. He instructed to revise the order of planting trees in each street and introduce a system of assigning trees to the owners of buildings and structures.
