The Adolat (transl. Justice) Social Democratic Party plans to nominate the chairman of its political council, Bakhrom Abdukhalimov as the candidate for the presidential election in 2021. The candidate was presented at an extraordinary plenum of the party. Now his candidacy must be approved at the party congress.
Bahrom Abdukhalimov, 62, graduated from the Tashkent State University (1981). He worked as a researcher, head of department, scientific secretary, deputy director for science and director of the Institute of Oriental Studies of the Academy of Sciences, as well as state adviser to the president.
He holds PhD degree in historical sciences, a scientist in the field of the history of sciences of Central Asia and oriental studies. Since 2011 he has served as Vice President of the Academy of Sciences. He was elected to the chief of the Adolat SDP in October 2020.
Yesterday, the Ecological Party unveiled Narzulla Oblomurodov as candidate for the presidential election which will take place on October 24, 2021.
