The Uzbek Ambassador to the United States, Javlon Vakhabov, presented copies of his credentials to Nester Forster, Ambassador of Brazil to the United States, to be appointed ambassador to Brazil with residence in Washington, Dunyo news agency reported.

Nester Forster congratulated Javlon Vakhabov on his appointment and underscored that due to the pandemic situation in Brazil, the country's Foreign Ministry delegated authority to accept copies of credentials to the chief of its diplomatic mission in the United States.

The Brazilian diplomat thanked the leadership of Uzbekistan for the decision to appoint an envoy in Brazil and expressed interest in working out joint trade and economic projects in agriculture, industry and mechanical engineering, as well as partnership in training.

Nester Forster also welcomed Uzbekistan’s request to the Organization of American States (OAS) to obtain the status of an observer country. He noted that the participation of Uzbekistan in the processes of the OAS will help establish closer cooperation with the member countries of the organization.

Javlon Vakhabov has been heading the diplomatic mission of Uzbekistan to the United States since October 2017. In 2018, he is concurrently the ambassador to Canada.
