A territory of recreational lakes will be created on the Aydar-Arnasay system of lakes and on Tudakul Lake. This is provided by the government resolution "On measures for the development of water recreation and beach tourism in the Republic of Uzbekistan" dated June 14, the Ministry of Justice said.
The transfer of land plots on the territory of the lakes to business entities and construction will have to be coordinated with the Ministry of Tourism and Sports.
An information center and parking will be open at the access to the lakes. There will also be a rescue team.
The document also approved the Concept for promoting tourism near recreational lakes for 2021-2025. It includes three stages, each of which is designed for five years:
- stage 1 - six accommodation facilities with a capacity of 204 places, ecotourism, hunting and water recreation facilities will be created;
- stage 2 - new tourist zones, accommodation facilities, medical institutions and sports facilities will be built on 33 thousand hectares around Aydarkul;
- stage 3 - accommodation facilities for 300 places and venues for sports events will be created, a parking lot for 1200 places and a shopping area will be built.
In addition, it is planned to repair over 270 km of roads leading to the lakes.
Aydar-Arnasay lake system is a system of closed lakes on the territory of Jizzakh and Navoi provinces, which includes Aydarkul, Tuzkan and East Arnasay lakes, located in the east of the Kyzyl Kum desert, southwest of the Chordara reservoir. Tudakul is a natural lake in the Kyzyltepa district of the Navoi province.
