The Uzbek delegation including officials of the Ministry of Tourism and Sports paid a working visit to Athens on June 2-4.The Uzbek delegation met with the Greek Minister of Tourism Haris Theoharis and Deputy Minister Sofia Zacharaki and discussed the ways to step up cooperation in the field of tourism and launching charter flights between the two countries.
The parties exchanged views on the organization of language courses for the Greek Diaspora in Uzbekistan on a non-discriminatory basis at the Greek Cultural Center.
The Uzbek official salso discussed with the Greek Deputy Minister of Culture and Sports Lefteris Avgenakis the re-signing of the 2006-2009 cooperation program in the fields of education, science and culture between the governments of Uzbekistan and Greece.
In addition, the parties agreed to cooperate in the organization of various sporting events, including rally, as well as the study and implementation of the Greek experience in public-private partnership.
