The governments of Uzbekistan and Tajikistan plan to amend the agreement on mutual travel of citizens of the two countries, signed on March 9, 2018, Asia-Plus reported.

According to the draft protocol, citizens of the two countries will be exempted from registration and temporary registration for 10 working days after crossing the state border.

Addenda to the agreement are expected to be inked during the official visit of President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to Tajikistan on June 10-11.

The nationals of Tajikistan currently arriving in Uzbekistan must register with the local police within three working days.

If a Tajik citizen has relatives in Uzbekistan, he or she can register at the relative's place of residence, paying a state fee of US$ 5.

Also, citizens of Tajikistan who come as tourists pay a state fee of US$ 5 and register at the hotel where they live.
