Uzbekistan received a new batch of the Russian Sputnik V coronavirus vaccine, the Ministry of Health said. According to the Ministry of Health, 70,000 doses of the first component of the vaccine were delivered. In April, in total, Uzbekistan received 100 thousand doses of the Russian vaccine (50 thousand doses of the first and second components).
This brings the country's vaccine reserve to 4.33 million doses. To date, more than 2 million doses of jabs have already been used in the vaccination process, the ministry said.
Mass vaccination of Uzbeks with the Russian vaccine began free of charge at the end of April.
At the end of May, Tashkent and Moscow agreed to localize the production of the Russian vaccine.
