On May 31, the President signed the Amendments and Addenda to the Electoral Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan Bill into Law. According to the document, complaints about actions and decisions of election commissions shall be reviewed exclusively by courts.
The district electoral commission for presidential elections shall be formed including from eight to eighteen members (previously there were 6-8 members).
The document also says that now the position, place of work of the candidate is not entered on the ballot paper.
Mass events, such as meetings with voters, shall be held with a written notification of the respective district (city) mayor’s office of the place and time of their holding at least three days in advance.
While, permission for holding mass events is not required.
