The authorities of Uzbekistan and the United States are planning to hold the first meeting in the format of a strategic partnership dialogue in Tashkent before July, the spokesman to the Uzbek Foreign Ministry, Yusup Kabulzhanov, told reporters on Wednesday.
In May 2018, during the first official visit of the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to the United States, the parties signed a joint political statement "Uzbekistan - USA: the beginning of a new era of strategic partnership."
In November 2020, following the Uzbek-American political consultations in Washington, a joint statement was adopted, where it was indicated that the governments of the two countries had decided to elevate the format of annual regular contacts to the level of a strategic partnership dialogue.
