The single integrator and the administrator - UZINFOCOM announced the introduction of DNSSEC secure domain names. The transfer of web services to the use of this technology will enhance the security of digital transactions.
“The technology for encrypted exchange of domain names significantly slashes the use of fraudulent schemes, phishing and fraud ... All seven root servers - essentially the country's communications hub with the global network - simultaneously switched to DNSSEC. The work lasted for several months and included writing software, replacing equipment, adjusting it and agreeing on protocols, ”said Emil Gimranov, General Director of UZINFOCOM.
Further implementation of DNSSEC depends on the companies that maintain authoritative DNS servers in their zones - hosters and registrars.
During the coronavirus pandemic, the number of online services has multiplied. Domain name registrars - there are 25 in Uzbekistan - have begun to register domains more often without requiring the physical presence of the registrant. The load on the root servers increased several times, so they had to be replaced with more productive ones, the domain administration said.
UZINFOCOM has been the Administrator of the UZ domain since March 2003. On April 29, the UZ domain zone celebrated its 26th anniversary. The total number of registered UZ domains surpassed 92 thousand, while one fifth of them, or 14 thousand domains, were registered last year.
