The start-up airline Qanot Sharq received the delivery of the first aircraft Airbus A320 on Monday. The Deputy PM/ Minister of Tourism and Sports Aziz Abdukhakimov attended the acceptance ceremony, the ministry said.
The airline is set to receive another A320 in 20 days, Aziz Abdukhakimov said. By the end of the year, the company is scheduled to receive two more A330s with a larger capacity. In the future, the company plans to have three A320s and the same number of A330s in its fleet.
The airline will operate both international and domestic flights. We will offer them to get headquartered in Samarkand, where we now want to launch open skies, the fifth freedom, the Deputy Prime Minister said.
Earlier in February, Air Lease Corporation had announced long-term lease placements for two used Airbus A320-200 aircraft with Qanot Sharq Airlines, scheduled to deliver this March.
