The political adviser of the Uzbek Embassy in Belarus Doniyor Obidov died from the consequences of coronavirus infection, announced the first deputy DG of the Cinema agency, Shukhrat Rizaev in his article in the Hurriyat newspaper.
“At the beginning of this month, news came from Belarus. Our friend, brother, PhD of Political Sciences Doniyor Obidov died from the consequences of the coronavirus infection. He worked hard to foster friendly and cultural ties between the two countries,” he wrote.
On the website of the Uzbek Embassy in Belarus, Doniyor Obidov is part of the team of the diplomatic mission.
On April 18, the Belarusian website Zviazda published an article "Risolat Khaidarova:
“In Minsk, the adviser of the Uzbek Embassy in the Republic of Belarus, PhD of Political Sciences, Uzbek scientist, culturologist, political scientist Doniyor Obidov, died. The few years that he worked in our country will be remembered for his caring attitude to Belarus, Belarusian-Uzbek relations, Belarusian culture, Belarusian literature. It seemed that every day he was ready to generate various creative initiatives, so that as a result of their implementation, the Belarusian-Uzbek humanitarian interaction would expand, our peoples would become closer,” the article says.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Health did not report the death of an Uzbek diplomat in Belarus.
