During the talks in Akorda between the Heads of Uzbekistan and and Kazakhstan, the President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev in particular noted:
"I sincerely welcome You to the Kazakh land, we have been waiting for You, this is Your first visit as the President. We congratulate You once again on Your election by the Uzbek people. Uzbekistan is our strategic partner, neighbor and the brotherly country. Our people wish for prosperity and well-being. (...) And in the cultural and humanitarian issues we are seriously counting on Uzbekistan, and on You personally. We will do everything to make Your visit a success. We already started our talks yesterday, and mentioned that a great deal of work had been already done for the opening of borders for transport and trade ", - Nursultan Nazarbayev said.
