A certain amount of Sputnik V vaccine will be delivered to Uzbekistan in late April and early May, announced Botir Kurbanov, a member of the Anti-Coronavirus Headquarters at a briefing Monday.

“Currently, AstraZeneca and ZF-UZ-VAC2001 vaccines are being used in the mass vaccination. In addition, negotiations are underway with the Ministry of Health and the Sanitary and Epidemiological Surveillance and Public Health Service on the purchase of the Russian Sputnik V vaccine.

He noted that the public healthcare sector, the funds allocated for doctors, the funds provided for the treatment of coronavirus patients are being fully controlled by the government and the president.

“3 trillion soums have been provided for this purpose, treatment and reserve beds have been set up in each hospital. At present, 32 million soums are spent for the treatment of each patient with coronavirus, and 64 million soums for the treatment of critically ill patients.

In addition, a 3-month supply of medicines, personal protective equipment and disinfectants for coronavirus patients has been created in our country to date. Emergency personnel are also on high alert,” he added.

As of April 10, the number of people vaccinated against coronavirus has reached 148,642.
