On March 22, 2017 the President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev at the invitation of the President of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev arrived in Astana on a state visit, UzA said.
In Astana airport Shavkat Mirziyoyev was met by the Prime Minister of Kazakhstan, Bakhytzhan Sagintayev , the First Deputy Prime Minister, Askar Mamin, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Kairat Abdrakhmanov, the akim (mayor) of Astana city, Aset Issekeshev and other officials.
As it was reported earlier, during the meetings and talks at the highest level, the state and prospects of development of relations between Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan in the political, trade-economic, investment, transport-communication, cultural, humanitarian and other areas, as well as topical issues of regional and international politics will be discussed.
As part of the visit, it is planned to hold the National Industrial Exhibition of Uzbekistan in Astana and Uzbekistan-Kazakhstan business forum with the participation of strong delegations of business communities of the two countries.
Following the visit, it is planned to sign a solid package of bilateral interstate, intergovernmental and interagency documents, as well as major commercial contracts aimed at bringing the Uzbek-Kazakh cooperation to a qualitatively new level.
