The President was signed a decree merging the Ministry of Sports and the Tourism Development Committee into the Ministry of Tourism and Sports.
The post of Deputy PM/Chairman of the State Committee for Tourism, which Aziz Abdukhakimov now holds, has been transformed into Deputy PM/Minister of Tourism and Sports.
The plans to unite the State Committee for Tourism and the Ministry of Sports were announced in February by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev. At the same time, Aziz Abdukhakimov was entrusted with the leadership of the Ministry of Sports (after the sacking of Dilmurod Nabiyev).
“Many sports facilities are not being used, the efficiency is below 50%. They must work around the clock,” the head of state told Aziz Abdukhakimov.
