A public call not to abide by or violate laws will be punishable by a fine, according to the amendment to the Code of Administrative Liability (CoAL) signed by Shavkat Mirziyoyev. The document was passed by the Legislative Chamber on March 4 and approved by the Senate on March 12.
CoAL is supplemented by article 201-1, according to which:
“A public call not to abide by or violate laws f of Uzbekistan, which poses a threat to public order and safety, including those carried out using the media, telecommunication networks, the Internet, as well as printed or other methods of reproduction of text, shall entail the imposition of a fine from 60 to 80 basic values (from 14.7 million soums to 19.6 million soums)”.
The amendment took effect on March 31.
