The State-Owned Assets Management Agency decided to stop the practice of listing government stakes exclusively through one broker, thereby ending the monopoly.
According to the agency, an important step has been taken to ensure transparency and openness in the sale of state-owned assets. Over the past several decades, government’s stakes had been listed on the Toshkent Stock Exchange exclusively through one broker - Mulk-Sarmoya Brokerlik Uyi, depriving others of the opportunity to realize their potential in this area.
From now on, bids will be held to attract professional investment brokers, with all 44 brokers being able to bid. During the selection of winners will be awarded based on their experience, financial position, amount of fee, and other aspects.
