Recently, a footage surfaced on social networks in which women in some underwear were cooking sumalak, the traditional Navruz holiday specialty.
According to social media users, the footage was filmed near Sahara restaurant in Urgench, Khorezm province.
Later, the press service of the Khorezm province Police Department reported that the police launched a probe, and found the "actresses" on the footage were strippers in a nearby night club, who were made to publicly apologize on local television.
Later they were charged with disorderly conduct, were fined for over 1 million soums each and sentenced to 15 days of administrative arrest.
