On March 9, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev hosted the Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu, and discussed topical issues of the Uzbek-Turkish multifaceted relations.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev underscored that regular contacts at the highest level contribute to further strengthening the ties of friendship and strategic partnership ties, expanding mutually beneficial cooperation between our countries.
The Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu expressed gratitude to the Uzbek leader for the welcome and conveyed warm greetings and sincere wishes of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
The parties focused on the practical implementation of the agreements of the first meeting of the Strategic Cooperation Council at the level of heads of state, held in Ankara in February last year, as well as the preparation of the next summit in our country.
The sides pointed to the need to the importance of building up cooperation in the trade and economic sphere, in particular the preparation and implementation of new investment projects in Uzbekistan with the participation of leading Turkish companies.
They noted mutual interest in developing an active interregional dialogue, promoting joint educational, cultural and humanitarian programs.
An exchange of views took place on issues of international politics and regional partnership, including within the framework of the Economic Cooperation Organization and the Cooperation Council of Turkic-speaking States.
