Oleg Sergeevich Malginov has been appointed the new Russian Ambassador to Uzbekistan. The decree of the President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, dated March 5, was published on the official Internet portal of legal information.

He will replace Vladimir Tyurdenev, who had been in charge of the Russian diplomatic mission in Uzbekistan since 2009.

Oleg Malginov, 63, graduated from the Moscow State Institute of International Relations under the USSR Ministry of Foreign Affairs. From 2012 to 2016, he was the Russian Ambassador to Romania. Prior to this appointment, he served as Director of the Department Dealing with Expatriates of the Russian Foreign Ministry.
