A solid delegation of Belarus, led by the Deputy PM Alexander Subbotin, will visit Uzbekistan on March 3-5, the press service of the Belarusian Embassy in Tashkent reported.
The delegation will attend the 8th meeting of the joint intergovernmental commission on bilateral cooperation and the meeting of the Uzbek-Belarusian business council. In addition, negotiations will be held in the Cabinet of Ministers, ministries and departments, as well as inter-ministerial political consultations.
The members of the delegation will visit the Uzbek-Belarusian joint ventures and companies of Uzbekistan cooperating with partners from Belarus. They will also visit Olmaliq and Samarkand, where negotiations will be held on expanding interprovincial cooperation and implementing cooperation projects.
The delegation will include the heads of the Ministries of Industry, Agriculture And Food, Education, Foreign Affairs, Transport And Communications, Health, Committee of Standards, the National Academy of Sciences and other departments of Belarus. The business part of the delegation will be represented by the heads of enterprises in the engineering industry, light, food and pharmaceutical industries, as well as rectors of universities.
In 2020, the volume of the two-way trade between Uzbekistan and Belarus topped US$ 280.1 million (+ 17.1% compared to 2019), including the import of Belarusian goods to Uzbekistan amounted to US$ 237.5 million, Uzbek exports to Belarus - $ 42.6 million.
