On the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Uzbekistan and Turkey, the two Heads of States exchanged congratulatory messages, a statement of the Uzbek Foreign Ministry.
The message of the President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said: " On the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Turkey and the friendly, brotherly Uzbekistan, I express my sincere congratulations and wishes to Your Excellency and brotherly Uzbek people on behalf of our people."
Recep Tayyip Erdoğan expressed confidence in the realization of the agreements reached following extensive summit talks on November 18, 2016 in Samarkand aimed at expanding bilateral ties and noted the readiness of the Turkish side to advance trust based cooperation both on bilateral and international platforms for the benefit of the Turkish and Uzbek peoples.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev specifically noted in his message that " shortly after the establishment of diplomatic relations in March 1992 was opened the Embassy of Turkey in Tashkent."
The Head of Uzbekistan stressed: "The February 26 - March 2 visit to Turkey of the Uzbek government delegation was a logical continuation of our agreements. Taking this opportunity, I express my sincere gratitude for Your meeting with my representative and Your attention. "
In addition, as Shavkat Mirziyoyev emphasized, Uzbekistan and Turkey have a huge potential that has not been utilized till now for advancing bilateral relations in the political-diplomatic, trade-economic, investment, military-technical, tourist, logistics and other areas. In this context, the expansion of cooperation and the joint implementation of promising projects are of particular importance.
The President of Uzbekistan expressed confidence that through joint efforts the sides will be able to bring a comprehensive and long-term partnership to a qualitatively new level in the sake of the prosperity of the fraternal peoples.
