On March 2, Shavkat Mirziyoyev hosted his adviser on economic development, good governance and international cooperation, Suma Chakrabarti, the presidential press service said.
The parties reportedly considered the proposals and recommendations put forward by the adviser Chakrabarti on the preparation of a Uzbekistan long-term strategy for economic reforms, improvement of the governance, expansion of ties between the country and foreign partners.
"Shavkat Mirziyoyev pointed to the need to continue the thorough joint preparation and subsequent practical implementation of the road map and other important conceptual documents in priority areas," the message says.
The parties also focused on further improvement of the investment climate and business environment, transformation of enterprises with a state share, training of highly qualified personnel.
On October 1, 2020, Chakrabarti took up the duties of an adviser to the President of Uzbekistan on economic development, good governance and international cooperation.
Before being appointed adviser to the President of Uzbekistan, Suma Chakrabarti had served for eight years as President of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development.
