The new version of the draft Criminal Code, published by the Prosecutor General's Office, provides for criminal liability for obstruction of a journalist's activities.
Article 184 of the draft new Code provides for criminal liability for obstructing or intimidating a journalist or his close relative by using his official position in order to obstruct the journalist's activities, ie to force him to disseminate or not to disseminate certain stories.
These actions are punishable by a fine of 50 to 100 times the basic value or a house arrest of up to 3 years or imprisonment for up to 3 years.
