The Transport Minister Ilkhom Makhkamov became the CEO of Uzbekistan Airways and will now combine the two positions.

Ilkhom Makhkamov, 41, a graduate of the Tashkent Automobile and Road Construction Institute and the State and Governance Academy under the President, has since October last year served as the Minister of Transport. 

Previously, he held the positions of the director general of the territorial communal and operational association of Tashkent, the director general of Uzkommunkhizmat agency and the head of the information and analytical department of the Cabinet of Ministers for utilities, transport, capital construction and construction industry. 

He replaced Bakhtiyor Khakimov who had been in charge of Uzbekistan Airways since January 2018.
