Stem cell transplantation is expected to be introduced in Uzbekistan in 2022-2023, said the chief of the Department of Hematology and Oncology of the National Children's Medical Center Kamol Iskandarov told about new medical practices in Uzbekistan.
According to him, high-dose chemotherapy and stem cell transplantation had not been performed in Uzbekistan yet.
“We have established treatment at the National Children's Medical Center in accordance with international protocols. The Department of Hematology and Oncology has begun to provide high-dose chemotherapy.
It is also planned to Implement a very expensive process - stem cell transplantation. This will be done in 2022–2023. To do this, it is necessary to adopt a legal document, create special isolation boxes, sections for the isolation of stem cells, their storage, elimination of post-operation complications. It will then be possible to conduct this practice.
