The President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, speaking at a session of the Namangan province council of People's Deputies on February 19, focused on countering the coronavirus pandemic and organizing mass vaccination.
According to him, Uzbekistan is working on the purchase of vaccines with partners from Europe, China and Russia.
“We will definitely import them. We are definitely taking measures for vaccination. This cannot be done in hasty steps. Every week I myself, for two or three days, work on which vaccine is the most suitable,” the president said.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev said that 3 trillion soums were reserved in the state budget for the purchase of vaccines.
“We will find and buy the most efficient vaccine that suits our climate and people. We will measure not 7, but 10 times before cutting. One of the main tasks for me is caring for the public health. We are conducting clinical trials. Which of them will bring us a suitable result, regardless of the cost, we will buy in the required amount for the people,” he said.
