Alisher Usmanov offered to cover half of the costs for the purchase of 1 million doses of coronavirus vaccine as part of the first stage of mass vaccination, announced the President Shavkat Mirziyoyev on February 19, speaking at a session of the Council of People's Deputies of Namangan province.
“Alisher Usmanov said that he would purchase 500,000 doses of the vaccine out of the planned 1 million. He said that he loves Namangan and asked to give the province the first 50 thousand. We are considering this issue,” the head of state said.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev stressed that as a result of the anti-coronavirus measures, the number of registered cases of the disease has significantly decreased.
“This morning I was informed that only 11 cases of coronavirus have been detected in Uzbekistan. This is a very great achievement. The measures we have taken have laid the foundation for such a result,” the President said.
