Uzbekistan and the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) signed a cooperation program for 2021-2025.

This is a key new document that will serve as a guide to further FAO activities in Uzbekistan. The program aims to support the government of Uzbekistan in achieving its national strategic priorities related to the transformation of the food system.

The main areas are inclusive development of human capital leading to health, well-being and sustainable prosperity, as well as sustainable development taking into account climate change. The budget of the country program is US$ 17 million.

In addition, various projects will be implemented in Uzbekistan until 2023 - for example, on the development of the potato industry and the production of rice crops - with a total value of more than half a million dollars.
