The Tajik Minister of Education and Science, Muhammadyusuf Imomzoda, announced that a joint Tajik-Uzbek university would be opened this year.
The proposal to establish a joint university came from the Tashkent State University, Asia-Plus said.
“We have studied this proposal and came to the conclusion that this higher educational institution will be created on the basis of the Khujand State University,” the minister added.
What faculties and departments will be set up, what will be the tuition fees, what training programs and language of instruction will be, and other organizational issues will be resolved in the near future, the ministry concluded.
In October 2020, the Tashkent State University of Law announced the opening of a joint faculty at Khujand State University.
“Citizens of other foreign countries can study at the joint faculty together with citizens of the Republic of Tajikistan. Education is conducted in English and Russian languages in line with international standards, "- said in a press release of the university.
After completing their studies, students will get diplomas from the Tashkent State University of Law and the Tajik State University of Law, Business and Politics.
