At the Feb. 5 meeting of the CEC Zainiddin Nizomhojaev was elected chairman of the Central Election Commission, replacing Mirzo-Ulugbek Abdusalomov, who was elected chairman of the Constitutional Court.

Since January 2020, Zainiddin Nizamkhodjaev, 66, had served as Deputy Chairman of the Senate.

Bahrom Kuchkarov was elected deputy chairman of the Central Election Commission. His predecessor, Mahmud Istamov, was earlier appointed prosecutor of the Bukhara province.

Prior to this election, Bahrom Kuchkarov worked as Deputy Minister of Justice since May 2020, and before that - Chairman of the State Committee on Ecology and Environmental Protection.
