On the sidelines of the meeting of heads of government of the Eurasian Economic Union member and observer states in Almaty Prime Ministers Abdulla Aripov met with his Kyrgyz counterpart Ulugbek Maripov, the press service of the Kyrgyz government said.
The two PMs reportedly discussed a wide range of issues of bilateral cooperation in trade, economic, investment, agriculture, cultural and humanitarian, water and energy and transport areas.
"Kyrgyzstan values a truly fraternal relationship based on mutual trust. We are ready to more actively advance the strategic partnership with Uzbekistan,” Ulugbek Maripov said.
Abdulla Aripov congratulated his counterpart on his appointment as the Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan and acknowledged that Kyrgyz-Uzbek relations are built on the highest level of trust.
"I can say with confidence that the Uzbek side, led by the President of Uzbekistan, is ready to provide comprehensive assistance in all projects that meet the interests of the two countries and peoples," said Abdulla Aripov.
The parties reiterated their readiness to implement joint projects and stressed the need to intensify efforts to complete the legal registration of the remaining sections of the Kyrgyz-Uzbek border.
The Uzbek side also expressed readiness to organize the supply of mineral fertilizers to Kyrgyzstan.
At the end of the meeting, Abdulla Aripov conveyed an invitation to the President of Kyrgyzstan to visit Uzbekistan.
