The Uzbek Foreign Ministry has announced that Polish journalist Agnieszka Pikulicka-Wilczewska had been accredited. The Polish journalist and correspondent for Qatar's Al Jazeera in Uzbekistan, has been accredited by the Foreign Ministry, the press service of the Ministry said.
Earlier, a Polish journalist accused a Foreign Ministry official of sexual harassment and pressure, stating that she was refused accreditation for six months.
The Senate chairperson Tanzila Norbaeva, the head of the public organization Komil Allamjanov, the Agency for Development of Information and Mass Communications commented on the situation.
In a statement issued by the Foreign Ministry on February 2, it was stated that the employee who harassed the journalist had been fired, and that the accreditation issue would be resolved within a day.
