The Deputy Prime Minister/Chairman of the Tourism Development Committee Aziz Abdukhakimov held talks with a Kuwaiti delegation led by Vice President of Jazeera Airways Ravindran Bharathan.
"During the talks, the parties discussed the launching direct flights from Kuwait to Uzbekistan, increasing the flow of Kuwaiti tourists to Uzbekistan and promoting tourism," the State Tourism Development Committee said in a statement.
Ravindran Bharathan was briefed about Uzbekistan’s tourism potential, reforms in the field of tourism, measures to liberalize the civil aviation market, the introduction of "open skies" at regional airports.
He expressed interest in the launch of Kuwait to Tashkent regular flights from March 2021, and in the future to launch flights to other tourist centers of Uzbekistan.
Aziz Abdukhakimov reportedly assured the guests that they would fully support Jazeera Airways' initiatives to expand the geography of flights to Uzbekistan and assist in obtaining permits for flights soon.
Jazeera Airways is one of the largest airlines in Kuwait and operates regular flights to about 40 countries in Europe, the Middle East and Asia.
