At the Jan. 27 government meeting, Shavkat Mirziyoyev warned government officials that those who hold "unnecessary meetings" will be fired.
“We must stop holding unnecessary meetings. It starts to become like a horse market. Some officials are diagnosed with meeting sickness. Those who hold unnecessary meetings, or hold them more than 40 minutes will be fired. Except for the meetings of the Presidential Administration and the President, ”the head of state said.
“If you have an sickness for holding meetings, then go home and hold a meeting there,” Shavkat Mirziyoyev said.
“If you spend 50% of the time spent on meetings for solving the social problems, we would have had better results,” he added.
In December 2019, the President signed a decree that provided for a reduction in the number of meetings held in government bodies.
