The authorities allowed the pegging of prices to foreign currencies and conventional units, according to the amendments of January 22to the Currency Regulation Law.
According to amendments, price pegging is allowed when selling goods (works, services) in Uzbekistan under public-private partnership (PPP) agreements based on presidential decrees and projects for which foreign investment was attracted through the government.
In addition, the relations associated with concessions are regulated by the Public-Private Partnership Law. The procedure for PPP projects will now apply to concession projects.
From now on, tender documents and draft PPP agreements worth over US$ 1 million shall require approval.
The amendments also define the powers of local executive bodies in the field of PPP.
