On January 15, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev chaired a meeting with khokims and heads of sectors of Tashkent’s districts, chairmen of makhallas and youth of Yunusabad district.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev said that within 10 days he fired two ministers (Ministers of housing and higher education Muzaffar Saliev and Inom Majidov) and several deputy ministers (First deputy minister of water resources Bakhodir Ruziboev, Deputy ministers of agriculture Saidkamol Khojaev and Botirjon Sulaymonov) , First deputy minister of higher education Uktam Salomov, Deputy minister of transport Davron Dekhkanov).
In addition, two deputy prime ministers received "the last reprimands and barely kept their jobs." He did not specify who he meant.
"Why? If they cannot handle the affairs, they must leave. To be able to handle the affairs, local authorities must be dedicated, compared to them, the chairman of the makhalla must be 10 times more dedicated," he stressed.
Addressing the leaders of 63 makhallas of Yunusabad district (the positions of chairmen in two of them are vacant), he urged them to stop “sleeping” and must “wake up”. According to him, the chairmen of makhallas should demand from state bodies to solve problems on the ground.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev noted that the chairman of the makhalla is the president's representative, who "creates a bridge between the president and the people."
